  • Welcome!

Hello! I am so glad that you're here. Welcome to my blog. My little corner of the world where I share my work and my life.
I believe in love. I believe in being present for your life. I believe in romance and love that lasts a lifetime. I believe that Starbucks should offer Toasted Graham Lattes all year. I believe my daughter is amazing. I believe in Tuesday night date nights with my dad. I believe there isn't much that prayer, a good workout or a cheeseburger can't fix. I believe that dresses and skirts with pockets are the best ever. I believe in being friends with my brides. I believe all dogs go to Heaven. I believe in having Thanksgiving dinner more than once a year. I believe in jumping up and down when I love an image I see on the back of my camera.
I believe that every couple has a love story. ...I can't believe I am lucky enough to tell them.

Kathryn+Mike: I Won’t Give Up

If you imagine an ideal fairytale, one in which there is a beautiful princess and handsome prince and the loveliest of happily ever afters, it pales in comparison to the beauty, love and passion you experience when you’re with Kathryn and and Mike.    Their love is so genuine.  Every touch is gentle, every word is rooted in love and every kiss is sensual.  They compliment each other perfectly.  She is feminine grace and he is masculine gentility.  Together, they are magical.  On March 2nd, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church,  in front of their family and friends, Kathryn and Mike said, “I do,” and all who witnessed it felt like they were part of a real-life fairytale.

How cute is this?  Kathryn and the best man, Kenny, surprised everyone when Mike went to look for her garter and it wasn’t there.

I will end with this.  A quiet moment between a bride and groom, when nobody else is around, and they can just enjoy one another.

Kat and Mike,

Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your fairy tale.  Thank you for choosing us and trusting us to tell your story.  We adore you both, and truly consider ourselves part of your family.  We wish you all the best.

xoxo

Emily: Senior Session

I have known Emily since she was 14.  Her mom ran the amazing in-home daycare that my daughter Ava attended.  Emily was sweet, adorable and everything I hoped my daughter would grow up to be.  She helped her mom and my daughter fell in love with her.  When she got her braces off I promised her a photo shoot.   Over time, life got busy, Ava started school and I lost touch with Emily and her family.   I was beyond excited when she contacted me this summer to shoot her senior pictures and finally get the shoot I promised her 3 years ago.

When I met up with Emily last week, we  talked about her love of photography and her boyfriend.  We talked about music, her family and her future.  As we walked around downtown Tucson, I found that the sweet, adorable girl I knew had evolved into an amazing, smart, beautiful young woman.

Emily, thank you for trusting me with your senior portraits.  Best of luck at NAU!

26 Random Acts of Kindness: 1

Ava and I were in line at Fry’s.  We were in the “About 15 items” lane and Ava was explaining to me what “about” means when a handsome old man, about 70 years old, rocking jeans, cowboy boots and a fancy sports coat got in line behind us with a cake and a six pack of Stella Artios.  I resisted the urge to pry about what I was hoping was a hot date, and insisted that he go ahead of us, since we had closer to about 15 items.  He seemed a little bit surprised and thanked us.  As he grabbed his goodies after paying, he turned around and said with a smile, “Thanks again, and don’t worry, I will pay it forward.”  And that right there, made my heart happier than the boots, sports coat and hot date combined.

As Ava and I walked out of the store we talked about what happened and I explained to her the idea of random acts of kindness.  I also made a mental note to follow through on 25 more.  After seeing several posts about 26 Random Acts to honor the Sandy Hook victims, I felt that number was appropriate.  I will share my random acts with you, not because I want you to think I’m a good person, but because I hope that like the gentleman at Fry’s, you will feel inspired to pay it forward too.  And if you do, please share in the comments section.  We all need a little inspiration.

Cherie - Somehow I missed this blog until now… but I’m TOTALLY doing this! I also somehow missed the 26 random acts for Sandy Hook, too. I guess I have been living under a rock. But it’s cozy under here! 🙂 I’m glad I saw this, though, because now I want to do the same.

I would have wanted to know about his hot date, too! 😉
